If you’re aged between nine and fifteen and you’d like to be part of an amazing experience putting on a play (to a public audience – not just family and friends!), Harleston Players Youth Theatre Company is the place for you. Our recent productions include Johnny and the Bomb, Bugsy Malone – see the photos in the gallery! – James and the Giant Peach, The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents (by Terry Pratchett) and Babe the Sheep-Pig.
We normally do two plays each year – one in the autumn and one in the spring. We rehearse two nights a week (currently Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 6.30pm till 8.30pm at Archbishop Sancroft High School in Harleston. At the beginning of the rehearsal process we read through the script and allocate parts. Everyone is welcome to the auditions, whether you have acted before or not – and we don’t turn anyone away. Everyone who wants to be in a show is given a part, and we try to keep everyone as busy as we can during rehearsals and performances – after all, you haven’t come along to sit around. To help with the costs of the production, there is a £10 cast fee per person.
