Gulliver's Adventures in Lilliput

Notes from the Director……….

GULLIVER’s ADVENTURES In LILLIPUT

Gulliver’s Travels was published in 1726 and embodied
Jonathan Swifts concerns from various perspectives.

It is by turn a political allegory, a satire on the Prime
Minister of the time Walpole and his Whig administration and a satirical dissection of the human spirit.

It is also a funny play to perform and I am indebted to
Alan Huckle and David Black for their take on the story and the way they have adapted it for the stage.

I have enjoyed directing it and I hope the cast have enjoyed performing it.

If the story is one you’ve not read go and find a copy of
Gulliver’s Travels as they go further than just Lilliput.
