It's going to be different ... The Ladykillers - a classic black Ealing comedy adapted by Graham Linehan from the 1955 film starring Alec Guinness, Katie Johnson, Herbert Lom and Peter Sellers.
Posing as amateur musicians, Professor Marcus and his gang of criminal misfits rent rooms in the lopsided house of sweet but strict Mrs Wilberforce. The villains plot to involve her, unwittingly, in Marcus's brilliantly conceived heist job. The police are left stumped but Mrs Wilberforce becomes wise to their ruse and Marcus concludes that there is only one way to keep the old lady quiet ...
Auditions will take place at Jay's Green, Harleston on Thursday 17 and Thursday 24 November at 7.30pm. The director, Sara Curtis, is looking for 6 men of various ages and 2 older ladies. Rehearsals will start in the middle of January, with performances at the end March/beginning April (to be confirmed).
