Auditions for Harleston Players production of the Classic BBC TV comedy of the Home Guard of Walmington-on-Sea will take place at Jays Green Community Centre, Harleston on Sunday May 19th 2.00pm-5.00pm and Tuesday 21st May 7.30-10.00pm.
The classic comedy of the Home Guard who battle daily against the Germans and local ARP Warden Hodges, comes to the stage complete with all the well-loved characters: “Stupid boy” Pike, “Don’t panic, don’t panic” Jonesey, “Doomed, we’re all doomed!” Fraser, “May I be excused, sir?” Godfrey, and all under the command of the redoubtable Captain Mainwaring and his effacing deputy Sergeant Wilson.
The three episodes, The Deadly Attachment, Mum’s Army and the Godiva Affair by Jimmy Perry and David Croft require a large and varied cast.
Rehearsals start 19 August 7.30 at Jays Green. Performances on 25,26,31 October and 1,2 November.
