At Heartwood House, Whitby, young Lucy Westerman is plagued by nightmares and grows paler everyday. Her sister Mina, soon to be married, is also troubled by dark premonitions and urges her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, not to travel abroad to visit his aristocratic new client, Count Dracula. And so the stage is set for a night of classic horror in a chilling adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel by the acclaimed poet and playwright Liz Lochhead.
This production brings an exciting new creative vision to the Harleston Players, in the shape of director Bazil Leith. Best known for his professional work as director and animator for Paddington Bear and The Wombles, Bazil is now putting his talent to work directing a strong cast in this timeless tale of madness, love and evil.
