In October 2016, Harleston Players brought to the stage Lionel Bart’s fantastic musical 'Oliver!', which played to sell-out audiences and received some wonderful feedback:
"Just home from watching your Oliver production! Wow, what a show, loved it from start to finish! Some excellent directing, scene changes worked so well and the cast were outstanding. Beautiful voices from Oliver and Nancy, backed by a strong chorus, loved Fagin and the evil Sykes, the comedy of Mr Bumble and Widow Corney's 'I Shall Scream' was wonderful.... but the one who stole my heart was the gin drinking young lass in Fagin's gang! Great humour and singing throughout, thanks for a lovely evening's entertainment..... and glad to see the knife grinder cart being used again!
